Fire Doors in Basingstoke
Loft conversions, flats above shops, HMOs and many rental properties need fire doors, and a fire door only works if it is fitted exactly as its certificate says: the right gaps, the right hinges, intumescent strips, a closer where required and a frame that matches the rating.

Fire Doors: your questions answered
Do I need fire doors for a loft conversion?
Normally yes: building regulations usually require the rooms opening onto the escape route to have FD30 doors. Your building control officer will confirm which doors, and we fit them to the standard.
Can a normal door be made into a fire door?
No. A fire door is tested as a complete assembly. We fit certified fire doors with the correct seals and furniture rather than trying to upgrade an ordinary one.
Do fire doors have to be plain?
Not any more. Fire doors come in oak, painted and glazed designs that match ordinary internal doors, so a loft landing does not have to look institutional.
