Painting and decorating in Basingstoke

Decoration is the last thing people see and the first thing they notice, so we treat it as part of the build rather than an afterthought.

Freshly decorated bedroom with warm grey walls, white skirting and new oak-effect flooring, fitted by Basingstoke Bathrooms

What painting & decorating includes

We decorate every room we renovate, and we take on decorating on its own: bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and landings, and the woodwork that goes with new doors, skirting and stairs.

Preparation is most of the job. Walls are filled and sanded, cracks raked out and taped, new plaster mist-coated, woodwork rubbed down and primed, and edges cut in by hand. The finish is two full coats of good-quality paint, not one thick one.

  • Walls and ceilings in emulsion, including feature walls
  • Woodwork in water-based satin or eggshell
  • New plaster sealed and mist-coated
  • Filling, sanding and caulking before any paint
  • Wallpaper removed and walls made good
  • Furniture moved and covered, rooms left clean

Painting & Decorating: your questions answered

Do you supply the paint?

Either. We can supply trade paint at trade prices, or you choose the colour and brand you like and we use it.

How long does it take to decorate a room?

A bedroom with woodwork takes two to three days including preparation and drying time; a hallway, stairs and landing is usually three to five days.

Do you decorate after your bathroom and kitchen work?

Always. Decoration is included in our bathroom and kitchen quotes, so the room is finished when we leave, not waiting for another trade.
